Marston is the area to the northeast of Oxford city centre, located between the beautiful University Parks and the River Cherwell to the west and the Headington area of Oxford to the east. It contains the pretty village of Old Marston at its northern end, plus a larger and newer residential suburban area. It offers excellent access to a number of key locations in Oxford, including the city centre and university areas, North Oxford and Summertown, the Oxford hospitals, and Oxford Brookes University. It has good bus services, a cycle track to the city centre, and attractive walking routes to the city centre, university areas and North Oxford through the parks. Largely residential, it has some useful local shops including supermarkets, newsagents, chemists and take-aways, and one of the best-known Oxford riverside pubs, the Victoria Arms on the River Cherwell, where punts frequently stop for refreshment in summer.

Marston has excellent road transport links. It adjoins the Oxford Ring Road close to the Headington Roundabout, offering easy access to the M40 and London in one direction, and the A34 and South Oxfordshire with its business and science parks in the other.
