An attractive, spacious bungalow with 3 bedrooms, set in a delightful semi-rural location but with easy car access to Oxford, Abingdon, Didcot and the business and science parks of South Oxfordshire. The house consists of three good-sized bedrooms, one double, one twin and one single, a charming living room, large kitchen with dining area plus separate utility room, and bathroom. Outside is an enclosed garden and off-road parking for three cars. The house is only 11kms from Oxford and 5kms from Abingdon and is popular with business visitors to Milton Park and Culham Science Park as well as families on holiday. Shops, pubs and bus services are within a short pleasant walk.

  • The living room is spacious, attractive and welcoming, with a big bay window and pretty brick fireplace. It is furnished with a large, comfortable 3-seater sofa, chair, coffee table, sideboard and flat-screen TV.
  • The main bedroom also has a big bay window and contains a double bed, large built-in wardrobe, chest of drawers, bedside table and chair.
  • The twin and single rooms are both of a very good size and each have good storage space with hanging wardrobes and large drawers beneath the  beds plus a chest of drawers. One of them also has a desk.
  • The kitchen is large and sunny, overlooking the back garden and the fields beyond. It is very well-equipped with everything visitors will need, including a dishwasher, and there is a washing-machine and tumble dryer in the separate utility room. The kitchen includes a pleasant dining area with a pine table and four chairs.
  • The spacious pine-walled bathroom combines bath and overhead shower.
  • Elegant reproduction furniture throughout gives a traditional English look.
  • Central heating and constant hot water.
  • Broadband wi-fi internet connection.
  • Gardens at the front and back of the house, maintained by regular gardener, with open outlook over fields at the back.

Location and access

The location is 11kms southwest of Oxford and 5kms northwest of Abingdon. Lashford Lane is a residential lane that runs between the villages of Dry Sandford and Wootton. The property offers the combination of a peaceful, rural location with excellent transport links: the A34 and A420 are only minutes away. Didcot is 20 minutes/15kms away, Milton Park business area is 15 minutes/12kms away, and Culham Science Park is 12 minutes/8kms away. There are shops and a regular bus service to Oxford and Abingdon from Wootton village, a pleasant 10-minute walk away.

Local area and amenities

The house is set in an area of small, pretty Oxfordshire villages and lovely countryside, conveniently close to the attractive Thames-side town of Abingdon and to Oxford city. Nearby Dry Sandford village has a very nice pub serving good food and the village of Wootton also has a pub and various shops within easy walking distance including a supermarket, newsagent and chemist. 300m from the house is Lashford Lane Fen nature reserve with a bird hide and a number of interesting walks, and a short distance in the other direction is Dry Sandford Pit nature reserve. Great choice for anyone looking for a holiday cottage in Oxford or easy commuting access to the city.
