Stratford-Upon-Avon is a historic market town set on the banks of the River Avon in the beautiful countryside of Warwickshire. It is famous all over the world as the birthplace of Britain’s greatest playwright, William Shakespeare, and millions of visitors every year come to visit Shakespeare’s birthplace, his mother’s house, his wife, Anne Hathaway’s cottage and the other Shakespeare Properties. It is the home of the Royal Shakespeare Company, who regularly perform Shakespeare’s plays at this superb venue, as well as several other theatres. The town has many beautifully preserved buildings from Shakespeare’s time, in the characteristic black and white Tudor style, a good selection of shops and excellent restaurants, tea shops and pubs. There are lovely walks around the River Avon and boat trips on the river, and visitors often combine a visit to Stratford with one to the stunning Warwick Castle nearby. Due to the many visitors to this historic venue, accommodation in Stratford-Upon-Avon can be hard to find and our property below offers a superb pied-a-terre studio apartment near Stratford, set in beautiful countryside.
